MICHELIN Primacy 5 significantly increases longevity compared to its predecessor (+18%) (4) while maintaining a very high level of safety on wet surfaces, both new and worn.

Longevity, noise reduction and improved energy efficiency (-5% vs. MICHELIN Primacy 4+) (6) allow MICHELIN Primacy 5 to meet the needs of all types of vehicle engines.

With an environmental impact reduced by 6% according to the life cycle analysis (LCA), MICHELIN Primacy 5 is perfectly in line with the Michelin Group's 'All Sustainable' strategy.

Developing a new tire or a new generation of tire involves many challenges to overcome.

Making progress on one or two items without degrading other performances is a feat of strength, but making progress at the same time: longevity, rolling resistance, comfort, noise and all this while being more respectful of the environment and maintaining a high level of safety requires very significant know-how and investment in research and development.

The MICHELIN Primacy 5 tire , a considerable gain in longevity while maintaining great safety from the first to the last kilometer

In a sustainable approach, offering a tire with excellent longevity, a very high level of performance and perfect safety of use is essential. This is the guarantee that the consumer can use their tires safely from the first to the last mile. According to two studies (1) conducted in 2023 for Michelin in Europe, the United States and China, this is also among the main expectations of motorists, whatever their vehicles.

Thanks to a new patented sculpture, a more cut tread (+ 10%) (2) allowing optimal water evacuation and the use of latest generation functional elastomers, MICHELIN Primacy 5 is classified A according to the European standard. It gains 4% in safety on wet ground when new (3) . Its increased lifespan (+18%) allows you to drive for longer, approximately 7,000 km more than its predecessor (4) , in complete safety, for daily journeys as well as for long family trips.

This increase in lifespan is all the more important when we know that today many vehicles are heavier and more demanding, with a direct effect on tire wear. With a high level of performance in both new and worn condition, MICHELIN Primacy 5 can be used for longer. A factor that contributes to reducing its environmental impact by 6% according to the tire life cycle analysis (LCA).

With the development of electric vehicles, noise and comfort are now factors that are increasingly valued by consumers. MICHELIN Primacy 5 perpetuates the heritage of the MICHELIN Primacy ranges, by integrating Michelin's knowledge in terms of interior noise reduction and comfort optimization: work on the design of the new sculpture, and, for each tire size, harmonization of the positioning of the blocks and sipes, allow MICHELIN Primacy 5 to achieve an excellent level of exterior noise and comfort and a reduction in interior noise.

Michelin's environmental approach is intended to be pragmatic and globalized

To continually reduce its environmental footprint, Michelin carries out an analysis of each of the 5 stages of the life cycle (LCA) for each new range: development, manufacturing, transport, use and end of life.

Before being put on the market, each new tire must be more efficient and effective than its predecessor. MICHELIN Primacy 5 thus improves its ACV by 6% compared to the previous generation, thanks in particular to the combined improvement of its longevity (5) by +18% and its rolling resistance by 5% (6).

MICHELIN Primacy 5 the tire developed to perfectly meet the characteristics of sedans and SUVs whatever their engine

Wishing to make its latest technological advances available to all motorists, all Michelin ranges must benefit, according to their specifications, from these innovations. MICHELIN Primacy 5 is a perfect example . It brings a level of requirement that corresponds to what is expected of a sedan or an SUV whether they are thermal, hybrid or electric by reconciling longevity, torque, autonomy, mass, noise and better respect for the environment.

In this way, the Group is developing a global pneumatic approach for passenger vehicles, and allows its customers to choose their tires according to their needs and not according to the engine of their car.

The MICHELIN Primacy 5 tire will be available in 88 sizes in 2025, including 64 from this January in Europe , for a total of 127 sizes by mid-2026.

It will also be marketed in other regions of the world, particularly in Asia, from March 2025.
