Since the outbreak of the new pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (hereinafter with 2019-nCoV) in Wuhan, Tang Fuping, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Minmetals, and Guo Wenqing, China Minmetals' President and Deputy Party Group Secretary and MCC Chairman, paid great attention to epidemic prevention and control, and made a series of emergency deployments in this regard.
On January 23, Guo Wenqing issued important instructions on epidemic prevention and control. On January 26 (the second day of the first month of the lunar calendar), Guo Wenqing presided over a telephone conference on the prevention and control of pneumonia caused by the new pneumonia caused by 2019-nCoV with the subsidiaries in Wuhan, and made a comprehensive deployment of the prevention and control work. The meeting called on Chinese Minmetals, especially the officials and employees at all levels in Wuhan, to conscientiously study and understand and implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. All enterprises are required to highly integrate their thoughts and actions into the important directive spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decision making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. China Minmetals should take the prevention and control of epidemic situation as the most important political task at present, make full use of the whole group's strength to win the prevention and control war of the epidemic, and earnestly shoulder the political and social responsibilities of the central stat-owned enterprises.
Guo Wenqing knew about the specific situation and work arrangement of current epidemic prevention and control in subsidiaries in Wuhan by listening to the introduction from Song Zhanjiang, Chairman of the China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd., Xiang Mingwu, Chairman of WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI), and Zang Zhonghai, Chairman of Wuhan Surveying-geotechnical Research Institute Co., Ltd. (WSGRI), on the telephone. On behalf of Tang Fuping, Chairman and Secretary of Party Group of China Minmetals, he put forward four requirements for further research, redeployment and mobilization on the prevention and control of the new pneumonia.
First, we need to convey and implement the guiding principles, general requirements and cordial concern of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Guo Wenqing first conveyed the spirit of a speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered in January 25 when he presided over the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee to Study the New Coronavirus Infection Prevention and Control Work Conference, which was held in the first day of the first month of the Chinese Lunar calendar. Guo Wenqing said that General Secretary Xi Jinping issued a call to win the battle of prevention and control against the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus. This call has brought strong confidence and strong strength to the nation's hundreds of millions of people against the epidemic. We should convey the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and the deep solicitude for the people of all nationalities in China to all levels of subsidiaries of China Minmetals and MCC. In particular, the subsidiaries in Wuhan, the worst-hit area should thoroughly implement the instructions of the General Secretary Xi Jinping, do not engage in large-scale public activities during the Spring Festival, and avoid large-scale personnel gathering. The leading officials of enterprises should seriously analyze and judge the epidemic situation, and deploy and implement the work of epidemic prevention and control.
Second, we should improve our political position and fully understand the seriousness and complexity of the situation. At present, the whole country is in an extraordinary period of fighting the epidemic together. It coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday. The mobility of people is large, the epidemic situation is urgent, and the source of transmission has not been blocked. At present, the epidemic is spreading. At this critical juncture, leaders of all subsidiaries should earnestly improve their political positions, deeply understand the seriousness and complexity of the prevention and control of pneumonia, strengthen unified leadership and command, and unswervingly implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee. In particular, in the face of the current complex situation of epidemic prevention and control, subsidiaries in Wuhan should, in accordance with the unified requirements and deployment of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and local governments, systematically promote the smooth development of all work.
Third, we need to keep scientific prevention and control, with targeted implementation of policies. The fight against the 2019-nCoV is a big battle and a hard battle. The key is to prevent and control it scientifically and orderly according to law. All levels of subsidiaries and all functional departments of the headquarters should be calm to deal with the situation without causing panic to the public and employees. At present, MCC's subsidiaries in Wuhan have set up a working group with the company's top leader as the team leader to track and investigate the whereabouts of employees during the Spring Festival holiday, and will ensure epidemic monitoring, investigation and early warning.
All the respiratory physicians and nurses of Shanghai MCC Hospital signed up to participate in the three groups of expert support teams from Shanghai to Wuhan. Among them, Luo Juan, chief physician of respiratory department, Wang Yanjiao, head nurse, entered Baoshan expert group for the first time and went to Wuhan on New Year's Eve. Zhang Jianguo, President of the hospital and other leaders went to the airport to see them off, showing that our officials are responsible. 223 medical and nursing personnel of Wuhan Puren Hospital of China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. also fought in the war. As of January 22, a total of 86 patients were admitted, and one third of them were critically ill. China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. urgently allocated vehicles to ensure the traffic of medical staff. China MCC5 Hospital, China MCC17 Hospital, China MCC19 Hospital and China MCC22 Hospital also cooperated with local governments to support epidemic prevention and control. Guo Wenqing, on behalf of China Minmetals, extended cordial greetings to the medical workers at all levels who were fighting in the front line, and asked them to take care of their bodies and do a good job of protection.
Fourth, we need to focus on the overall situation and should our due responsibility, and leaders in extraordinary times should perform their duty. The CPC Central Committee has set up a leading group to deal with the epidemic and carry out its work under the leadership of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, which has strengthened our determination and confidence in winning this crucial battle. Leading officials at all levels should focus on the overall situation and take on responsibilities in this war. We should go all out to overcome difficulties. We should to shoulder the responsibilities and put all the work to deal with the epidemic in place. We should timely grasp the epidemic situation, timely report the situation and take actions, and do a good job in epidemic prevention and control work of headquarters and units at all levels. Medical personnel should return to their posts as soon as possible, duty personnel should stick to their posts, and leading offcials at all levels should do their extraordinary duties in case of emergency.
When there are difficulties in one area, the whole country will support it. At present, China Minmetals and MCC have been fully mobilized and deployed. We should actively mobilize overseas enterprises such as Minmetals Japan Corporation, Minmetals Korea Co Ltd and MCC Trade to actively purchase masks and other medical supplies, reduce the pressure of domestic social supply, and help Wuhan.
