FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The all-new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander was named SUV of the Year by Puros Autos in the publication's recently announced 'Latin Flavor Cars of the Year 2021' awards.

According to Puros Autos, Hispanic customers purchase one out of every four cars sold in the United States, and Hispanic market share is outpacing the overall market by almost three-to-one. In the competitive Compact SUV segment, which includes the all-new Outlander, Mitsubishi Motors has the highest percentage of Hispanic buyers in the industry.1

'The Hispanic market is vitally important to Mitsubishi Motors, and we are honored to receive the coveted Latin Flavor Car of the Year Award from important industry voice Puros Autos,' said Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) Chief Operating Officer Mark Chaffin. 'Since the launch of our all-new flagship in 2021, Outlander has earned awards for its bold design, luxurious interior and superior value, and broken long-standing sales records for the brand along the way. We are excited to build on that momentum in 2022.'

In a world-first, the 2022 Outlander launched on Amazon Live in February 2021, and has since led the brand's sales success, setting monthly and quarterly sales records and accounting for 33 percent of overall sales in 2021. With the only standard third row in its class, the 2022 Outlander was named a 'Wards 10 Best Interiors' winner and earned a 2021 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation. In 2022, Mitsubishi Motors celebrates 40 years of doing business in the United States.

'Just as individuals have a taste for vehicle color, Hispanics have a taste for vehicle model, and the 'Latin Flavor Cars of the Year' awards recognize vehicles that appeal directly to the important and growing Hispanic audience,' said Puros Autos Editor Enrique Kogan. 'Mitsubishi has long been a preferred manufacturer among Hispanic customers, thanks to a well-deserved reputation for reliability, capability and value. Outlander continues this trend with a stylish exterior and premium interior that make it a standout among SUVs considered for the Latin Flavor Cars of The Year 2021 Awards.'
