Mondelez International - Since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, we have established a $10 million commitment via the Mondelez International Foundation to support the country, Ukrainian citizens as well as refugees with cash and in-kind contributions. We are also providing humanitarian aid in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC, as well as with Save the Children.

Supporting our Colleagues in Ukraine

As the war continues, supporting our colleagues and Ukrainian citizens remains a priority for us at Mondelez International. Our hearts go out to our colleagues, as well as those with family and friends in Ukraine, and we remain committed to supporting them by all available means.

In the past months, several Ukrainian employees have found temporary or permanent jobs within our company in other countries. Some others decided to leave Ukraine and take up residence in neighboring countries with their families. In both cases, we witnessed amazing support from the Mondelez family to assist our Ukrainian colleagues in both crossing the border and finding shelter, not only in MDLZ facilities but also welcoming them to their homes, demonstrating an incredible generosity and 'One Family' spirit.

A bespoke internal app was also launched to connect Ukrainian employees seeking shelter with MDLZ colleagues across the globe who were able to offer a safe place for them to stay along with their families. The app has proven to be a phenomenal resource, supporting families in danger in the most critical times this past spring, and we are indebted to all our colleagues who unselfishly opened their doors to welcome those in need.

Humanitarian Efforts

A few weeks after the conflict began, we started a MDLZ employee donation & fundraising program where employees across the globe were able to contribute with individual financial contributions. To make our colleagues' contributions more impactful, Mondelez double-matched the collected amount and donated it to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Moreover, the Mondelez Foundation is donating $10 million for humanitarian efforts to support Ukrainian communities. This includes donations to international and local non-government organizations focused not only in supporting the people in Ukraine but also with a specific focus on the communities affected by the war, especially in locations where we have manufacturing sites, such as Trostyanets and Vyshhorod.

Mondelez is also supporting the communities in a direct and targeted way. For example, back in March 2022 we bought power generators and fuel to sustain critical infrastructure and donated a bus to restore some sort of public transportation in Trostyanets city. MDLZ also supported the repair of a kindergarten in Novi Petrivtsi village, near our Vyshhorod plant.

Last but not least, ever since the war began, we have been and continue to donate in-kind products to food banks and NGOs in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries to support refugees. We have also sent trucks filled with MDLZ products directly to several Ukrainian cities to support local communities and people in need.
