Global packaging and paper leader Mondi has been recognised by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in the 'Top Performer' category for the third year in a row in their annual review of member companies' sustainability reports.

This recognition reinforces Mondi's commitment to transparency in communicating its sustainability progress and comes against the backdrop of its recently published 'MAP2030' - an ambitious 10-year action plan to contribute to a better world and deliver positive impacts at scale to build a circular economy.

Mondi's most recent Sustainability Report is commended for its clear discussion of big picture challenges such as climate-related risks and colleague safety; transparent disclosure of performance and its supporting narrative; and balanced inclusion of leadership insights with external voices that shed light on the issues shaping the paper and packaging industry.

Reporting on our sustainability ambitions and the progress we are making in a transparent way is key to how we manage Mondi's impact and an important part of how we communicate authentically with our stakeholders. We are thrilled to see our efforts recognised and we will continue to prioritise credible reporting as we chart our way towards meeting our ambitious MAP2030 targets.

Gladys Naylor, Group Head of Sustainable Development

Angela Graham-Brown, Director of the Forest Solutions Group at WBCSD, said: "Year on year we have seen Mondi's understanding of key elements needed for effective sustainably reporting brought to the fore. We value transparency and actively champion organisations that are vocal about their commitments in tackling pressing sustainability challenges through their reporting. We recognise Mondi as industry leader in this space, which is reflected by their role co-chairing WBCSD's Forest Solutions Group (FSG)."

The WBCSD produces Reporting Matters to improve the effectiveness of corporate sustainability reporting. The group analysed sustainability reports from 168 leading global companies against a set of comprehensive indicators.
