MONETA Distributed Over CZK 5.7 Million to Non-Profits in This Year's Grant Program

In this year's grant program, MONETA has released over CZK 5.7 million to support social and environmental projects. The bank decided to triple the original budget due to a record number of applications for support.

While last year MONETA supported the projects of non-profit organizations within the grant program with CZK 2.8 million, this year it is almost CZK 3 million more. The bank decided to increase the budget significantly due to the huge number of applications for grant support received and the significant involvement of the ambassadors of the organisations' projects, who are MONETA Group employees themselves. "This year, we received more than 200 applications for financial support, which is indeed a record number in the entire history of the grant programme since 1996. We are aware that the financial assistance applied for by non-profitorganisations goes primarily to the most vulnerable groups of the population, who are experiencing a real crisis as a result of the pandemic. That is why we wanted to help them at least a little. For this reason, we have decided to increase the budget for the grant program dramatically," says Zuzana Filipová, Director of Sustainability and Communication at MONETA Group.

In 2021, MONETA supported a total of 85 projects aimed at helping disadvantaged children and adults, the elderly, as well as supporting environmental protection and mitigating the effects of global climate change. More than 15% of this year's total support went to 10 projects that specifically targeted environmental issues.

MONETA has also long supported the reintegration of people with criminal records back into normal life. Thanks to RUBIKON Centrum z.s., these people are given the opportunity to learn work habits, establish normal social ties and thus reintegrate back into society with a lower risk of recidivism. MONETA also perceives the need to prevent risky behaviour and therefore also supported the project of the organisation Šance pro Tebe, z.s. (Chance for You), which works with children from socially disadvantaged families and helps them to prevent social exclusion. Their activities include, among other things, work with drug- addicted children in the Pardubice Region.
