MONETA Is the Only Bank in the Czech Republic to Sign Up to the UN Principles for Responsible Banking

Prague, 13 October 2021

MONETA Money Bank has become an official signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking. This unique framework for sustainable banking is a partnership between responsible banks around the world and the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). Its role is to bring together banks to shape the future of banking, which is aligned with the Paris Agreement on climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Bank is acting in line with the preparation of its comprehensive ESG strategy, which it will present this November.

"At MONETA Money Bank, we have extensive experience in implementing social and environmental sustainability principles and have achieved several significant milestones in our efforts to create sustainable value for our clients, shareholders and society as a whole. I am very pleased that we are the first bank in the Czech Republic to commit to the UNEP FI principles for responsible banking at a time when such activities are urgently needed," said Tomáš Spurný, Chairman of the Management Board of MONETA Money Bank.

MONETA has thus joined the world's largest global banking community focused on sustainable finance, sharing best practices and collaborating on pioneering tools that benefit the entire industry. "We want to show that well-designedbanking products and services, as well as relationships with clients, shareholders and the public, can accelerate the changes that are necessary in the context of today's environmental challenges for current and future generations," said Zuzana Filipova, MONETA Group's Director of Sustainability and Communication, adding that the bank will present its comprehensive ESG strategy with concrete practices in November.

Banks that have signed the Principles commit to being ambitious in their efforts to make sustainability one of the cornerstones of their business. Signatory banks measure and regularly report on the environmental and social impacts of their business activities according to the principles. Already this spring, MONETA became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, another UN initiative. It brings together some 12,000 companies from more than 145 countries, making it the world's largest voluntary corporate platform.

MONETA has had a sustainability policy in place since it went public in 2016. So far, it has managed to reduce its own carbon footprint by more than 58%, and its corporate fleet consists of 68 electric vehicles, making it the second largest electrified fleet in the country. It purchases only green electricity for all its branches and both its headquarters. It is also active in the field of so-called social responsibility: it has one of
