The SHEET INSPECT convinces customers around the world with its unique full inspection system, which covers all quality aspects such as notch defects, holes, rips, creasing, and knots in the substrate, register variations, color variations, print and OVI defects, fiber density and presence, position and integrity of security features, as well as presence and intensity of magnetic ink.
Recently, a new feature has been added to the comprehensive technology portfolio: the inspection of micro text on the security thread which is made from metallized plastic and is directly embedded into the paper during manufacturing.
New Feature: High-Speed Micro Text Inspection
Mühlbauer is the global leader in micro text inspection on banknote security threads. 'Our machine is the only system on the market to perform this inspection in such a reliable and fast way - none of our competitors is able to perform this kind of vision checks'; says Regine Pflamminger, Business Development Manager of Mühlbauer.
Mühlbauer incorporated machine learning algorithms that use pattern recognition to perform this task. No speed loss is expected, which means that the machine runs at full speed with up to 10.000 sheets per hour, while, at the same time, performing a complete inspection of the micro text on the thread.
Nano Text Inspection
The feasibility of inspecting nano text on banknotes at high speed - a security feature which is even smaller than micro text - is currently under evaluation.
