In its 40th anniversary year, BarraShopping, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), was selected for the 12th time the favorite shopping center of the Cariocas (residents of the city of Rio de Janeiro) who voted in the Marcas dos Cariocas brand survey. The research is conducted by the O Globo newspaper in partnership with TroianoBranding. The Multiplan mall has ranked first in the shopping center category in every year the survey has been carried out, being the favorite of those interviewed.

BarraShopping was the first shopping center in Barra da Tijuca, accelerating the neighborhood's growth and introducing entertainment, leisure, convenience and services to consumers in the region and throughout the city.

The development, which has undergone seven expansions over the course of its history, presents a complete mix, with more than 690 stores. Among the constant innovations that mark its trajectory was the first Medical Center to be integrated with a shopping center.

Over the years, BarraShopping has become a multi-purpose complex that includes the NewYorkCityCenter and VillageMall shopping centers and the Centro Empresarial BarraShopping. Together, the enterprises occupy a stretch of land that is 1.2 km long, equivalent to the Leblon waterfront.

Annually, the shopping center receives more than 30 million visits. We thank everyone who is part of this story!
