The RibeirãoShopping Medical Center served, on April 14 and 15, as vaccination point for COVID-19 shots earmarked for teachers and education professionals in Ribeirão Preto and the nearby region. The doses of the vaccine were intended for 5,000 workers over 47 years of age. Vaccinations were given in the auditorium of the Medical Center and RibeirãoShopping offered free parking to professionals with prior scheduling.

The action was a partnership of Multiplan, administrator of RibeirãoShopping and ShoppingSantaÚrsula, with the municipal government of Ribeirão Preto. Other company malls also support the vaccination campaign. ShoppingAnáliaFranco, in São Paulo (SP), and BarraShoppingSul, in Porto Alegre (RS), are points of vaccine shots in drive-thru format. In Rio de Janeiro, the commerce sector has signed a cooperation agreement with the state government so that malls provide space for vaccines.

'RibeirãoShopping offered the entire safety structure and also meals for health professionals and the Department of Education involved in the vaccination campaign at the Medical Center. Vaccination will accelerate the resumption of activities and make it possible to resume life in its normal course. In this regard, Multiplan's malls are available to support the government in these initiatives,' says Vander Giordano, Multiplan's Institutional Vice President.
