1534 GMT - Munich Re is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data, after the insurer said that losses from natural disasters worldwide reached around $270 billion in 2022. The company attributed the losses to climate change and its driving of more extreme weather events, such as Hurricane Ian in the U.S. Insured losses were about $120 billion in the year, according to provisional estimates, which is in line with 2021 figures but higher than the average from 2017 to 2021, according to Munich Re.
