Nagase Singapore (Pte) Ltd. (hereinafter 'Nagase Singapore'), a sales subsidiary of NAGASE & CO., LTD. (Tokyo, President: Kenji Asakura, hereafter 'NAGASE'), will open the Regional Innovation Center in Singapore as a base for providing solutions and communication such as presentations and seminars for food and beverage manufacturers with the food materials handled by NAGASE Group.

The facility is overseas expansion of an application development lab 'L'Plaza' (Tokyo and Okayama) developed by Hayashibara Co., Ltd. (Okayama, President: Naoki Yasuba, hereinafter 'Hayashibara'), a manufacturing subsidiary of the NAGASE Group. This is the second case following the opening of Xiamen in China in August 2019.

The facility is opened for the purpose of recipe proposal, application development, presentation to customers and seminars based on different needs depending on the food culture and seasoning of each country, the main target customers are manufacturers of food and beverage industry in Southeast Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, including bread, confectionery, beverages, dairy products, processed foods and noodles. We will provide solutions centered on NAGASE Group products such as, Hayashibara's flagship multifunctional sugar 'TREHA', a product handled and processed by Prinova Group LLC, a US food material processing and sales company that has strengths in premixes (mixtures) of diverse food materials and vitamins, and amino acids. Enzyme preparations manufactured by Nagase ChemteX Corporation (Osaka, President: Satoru Fujii).

The NAGASE Group has set the Life & Health Care field as one of the focus areas of the medium-term management plan ACE-2020 until FY 2020, and established the Food Ingredients Department on April 1, 2020. In particular, we are globally promoting the business under the brand name of 'Nagase Food Ingredients' in order to develop the business in overseas. We will continue to maximize the Group's synergies to improve our presence in the food ingredients industry.
