DULUTH, Ga. (AP) _ National Vision Holdings Inc. (EYE) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $9.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Duluth, Georgia-based company said it had net income of 12 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 21 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 8 cents per share.

The discount optical retailer and eye care provider posted revenue of $509.6 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $503.3 million.

National Vision expects full-year earnings in the range of 65 cents to 77 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $1.99 billion to $2.02 billion.
