Natural Resource Partners L.P. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2020. For the quarter, the company announced total revenue and other income of USD 31.011 million compared to USD 81.469 million a year ago. Loss from operations was USD 115.172 million compared to income of USD 60.844 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 125.501 million compared to net income of USD 19.351 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was USD 10.64 compared to EPS of USD 0.95 a year ago.
For the six months, the company announced total revenue and other income of USD 71.225 million compared to USD 148.510 million a year ago. Loss from operations was USD 86.085 million compared to income of USD 110.783 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 106.722 million compared to net income of USD 55.070 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was USD 9.74 compared to EPS of USD 3.20 a year ago.

It owns, manages, and leases a diversified portfolio of properties in the United States including coal, industrial minerals and other natural resources, as well as rights to conduct carbon sequestration and renewable energy activities. Its Mineral Rights segment consists of about 13 million acres of mineral interests and other subsurface rights across the United States. Its ownership provides critical inputs for the manufacturing of steel, electricity, and basic building materials, as well as opportunities for carbon sequestration and renewable energy. Its Soda Ash segment consists of its 49% non-controlling equity interest in Sisecam Wyoming LLC (Sisecam Wyoming), a trona ore mining and soda ash production business located in the Green River Basin of Wyoming. Sisecam Wyoming mines trona and processes it into soda ash that is sold both domestically and internationally into the glass and chemicals industries.
