Gas Natural SDG : Cegas will invest over 405,000 euros to bring natural gas to L’Albir (Alicante)

• The urban centre of L'Alfàs del Pi has had a supply since 2015, and it will soon be available to residents of the coastal area too

Gas Natural Cegas has begun construction work to bring the natural gas supply to L'Albir, the coastal neighbourhood of L'Alfàs del Pi in Alicante. With an investment of around 405,000 euros, the project is expected to be completed in early May. The residents of the coastal area will enjoy the advantages of this energy source beginning in the weeks after the installation is completed.

The distribution network for L'Albir will include 7 kilometres of pipelines, from Camí de La Mar through Avenida del Albir and Cami Vell d'Altea, to reach all the supply points in the neighbourhood. Thanks to this infrastructure, around 5,890 homes and businesses and about ten local hotels will be able to benefit from natural gas.

Natural gas is an energy of the future, contributing to making industrial and business production processes more efficient and improving the quality of life and comfort in homes. It is also the ideal complement to renewable energies in a low-emission energy model. The use of natural gas in the transport sector is a key element in mitigating climate change and improving air quality in cities, as it reduces nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions, the main urban pollutants, by over 85%.

Presence in the Region of Valencia

Gas Natural Cegas, GAS NATURAL FENOSA's natural gas distributor in the Valencia Region, has been operating in there for 170 years, and now has over 677,100 supply points and a distribution network of more than 8,360 kilometres. The company currently supplies natural gas to 230 towns and cities in the Valencia Region and continues to make significant investments to bring natural gas to new communities and strengthen the current distribution and transport network.
