Gas Natural SDG : Fenosa once again one of 120 most sustainable companies in Europe and the world

• For the fourth consecutive year, the power company has been listed in both sections of the Euronext Vigeo Index (Europe 120 and Eurozone 120) as one of the 120 most sustainable companies in Europe and the Eurozone.

• This acknowledgement confirms the entire company's commitment to sustainability.

For the fourth consecutive year, Gas Natural Fenosa has been listed in both sections of the Euronext Vigeo Index (Europe 120 and Eurozone 120) as one of the 120 most sustainable companies in Europe and the Eurozone. In order for membership in this index to be renewed, best practices must be applied in all areas of the company and various departments need to work together to gather the necessary information.

Thanks to the collaboration from these departments, we have achieved a good score for environmental issues such as the environmental, biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions and pollution strategy; in terms of social criteria, such as professional development, occupational health and safety, human rights, diversity, relations with the community, social dialogue and the supply chain; and in terms of good governance criteria, such as corruption, ethics, internal auditing and control, and shareholder relations.

This demonstrates the entire company's commitment towards sustainability and strengthens collaboration between the various departments as they work towards a common goal: to be a financially, socially and environmentally sound company, based on good governance, capable of meeting stakeholder expectations.

Euronext Vigeo Indices

Vigeo is a rating agency specialised in socially responsible investment that was set up in France in 2002. The Euronext Vigeo indices were created in 2012 by NYSE Euronext (NYX), one of the largest securities exchange groups in the world, and analyse the three pillars of responsible investment: social, environmental and good governance issues. Gas Natural Fenosa has been listed on the Euronext Vigeo Eurozone 120 index (the 120 most advanced companies in terms of sustainability practices in the Eurozone) since it was created in January 2013.

The scores are based on 38 criteria which include respect for the environment, human rights, recognition of human capital in companies, relations with stakeholder groups (customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, etc.), good governance, ethics and business integrity aimed at fighting corruption. Vigeo rates each company against over 300 indicators.
