Nedap today presented the new !D Hand™, the world's lightest hand-held RFID device and the first with one-button operation.
Designed for retail stores, !D Hand™ features a powerful RFID scanner in a beautiful ergonomic design that is light and comfortable to carry and use. The mobile scanner enables staff to manage inventory by quickly seeing what needs replacing, moving or what is missing. !D Hand™  is available now from Nedap business partners worldwide.
“!D Hand™ is a breakthrough product for retailers engaging with RFID tagging. The elegant design and simple one-button operation demonstrates our commitment to creating devices shop staff want to use,” said Rob Schuurman, Nedap Retail’s Director. “The device is light and easy to use - no training needed. As consumers we've all seen the advances made by mobile computing companies in recent years, we're bringing the same user-friendly thinking to the technology and tools needed for advanced retail operations.
”!D Hand™ one button operation removes the confusion of multiple buttons and the frustration of unresponsive touch screens associated with many handheld scanning devices. Whether staff are full-time, part-timers or temps they will grasp the basics in seconds. To activate the reader, users can press the button or simply shake it. A vibration motor and beeper confirm every performed scan.
!D Hand™ is 70% lighter than its nearest competitor. This makes it comfortable to use even for extended stock taking. Although extremely lightweight, the powerful scanner has a range of 75cm in all directions.
!D Hand™  can be used in combination with mobile computing devices and smart phones, including Windows CE devices. For all platforms there’s an open API that enables retailers and 3rd party integrators to make their own applications based on the handheld reader. Nedap’s !D Start App is now available for free download and utilizes the full capability of the mobile scanner.
Optional extras
