Nel won a contract worth about 5 million euros ($5.2 million) to supply electrolyzer equipment to Samsung C&T.
Under the deal, the Norwegian hydrogen company will supply 10 megawatts of alkaline electrolyzer equipment to a pink hydrogen production plant owned by Samsung.
Pink hydrogen is a type of hydrogen generated through water electrolysis powered by nuclear energy.
"The aim is to produce hydrogen from excess nuclear power generation, allowing to utilize energy that is otherwise wasted in periods of oversupply, increasing overall energy efficiency," Nel said.
