Forbes identified leading companies in supporting women inside and outside the world of work, drawing up a list of "World's Top Female Friendly Companies 2021"

Neoenergia reinforces the company's focus on equal opportunities.

Iberdrola, the parent company of Neoenergia, is among the top 10 companies in the world for women to work for. This was the conclusion of the study "World's Top Female Friendly Companies 2021", conducted by Forbes in partnership with Statista, focused on market analysis, to identify leading companies in supporting women inside and outside the universe of work. Gender equality is one of the commitments that Iberdrola and, consequently, Neoenergia, incorporate in its labor policy. Through various initiatives, all companies of the Group assume this agreement in four areas of its management: recruitment and selection, salary conditions, training and professional development and communication.

Iberdrola and its companies have more than 70 measures to promote the reconciliation of work and personal life. Financial independence is one of the main forms of women's empowerment and therefore promoting equal access to the labour market is essential. The company has a diversity program that focuses on promoting a work environment of inclusion, respect for diversity, empowerment and combating prejudice. Within the strategy, Neoenergia is reviewing human resources processes, aiming to act in recruitment and selection to promote more inclusive selection processes, form its leadership for diversity management, continue to promote actions for empowerment and combat prejudice.

In addition, Neoenergia maintains a Policy of Equal Opportunities and Conciliation, not admitting any type of discrimination by race, color, age, sex, marital status, ideology, political opinions, nationality, religion, sexual orientation or any other personal, physical or social condition among its professionals. The initiatives are in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially number 5, gender equality.

"Equal opportunities, in addition to being a primary right, is also one of the essential foundations for building a more prosperous and just world for all groups. When we respect differences, we are able to build together the world in which we want to live, with more empathy, equality and opportunities for all. We want our employees to feel comfortable to be who they are, with the freedom and welcome deserved",says Régia Barbosa, Superintendent of Organizational Development at Neoenergia.

Currently, Neoenergia counts a significant number of women both in its corporate teams and in the Executive Board. The progress made so far is important, but the goal is to move towards the consolidation of the company as an international benchmark in equality.

The company also promotes the School of Electricians, which aims to contribute to the promotion of gender equality in a profession previously dominated by men, through exclusive classes for women. The initiative was recognized internationally in a case study published by WeEmpower, the UN Women's Program with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the European Union to stimulate good business practices. The document points to neoenergia's project as an example of one of the Principles of Women's Empowerment (WEPs), that of promoting education and professional development for women.
