Neoenergia started the mobilization for the construction of another transmission project, referring to lot 9 of auction 002/2019 carried out by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The company obtained the authorization to start the works through the installation license of the project, issued by the Institute of environment and water resources (Inema) of Bahia.

'The Rio Formoso project is very important for the company because it expands our supply possibilities in the interior of Bahia, presenting operational synergy with our distribution activities in the region. We continue to advance with our transmission projects, an essential segment for the sustainable development of the electricity sector, and we are proving our execution capacity, anticipating deliveries in relation to the business plan and contractual deadlines',says the Director of Transmission of Neoenergia, Fabiano Uchoas.

The project has the construction of the Rio Formoso II substation (with two 230/138 kV processing units with installed power of 200 MVA each), the implementation of a new yard in the Rio das Éguas substation (with seven 500/230 kV transformation units of 100 MVA) and the construction of 105 kilometers of transmission line at 230kV, circuit, for the interconnection of the substations.

This month, earthmoving work will be carried out at the two substations and the foundations of the transmission line towers. Neoenergia expects to generate 600 direct jobs throughout the works.
