Encourages all in Malaysia to get vaccinated

Petaling Jaya, July 22, 2021 - In line with its ongoing commitment to support Malaysians throughout the pandemic, Nestlé Malaysia continues to provide relief to struggling families and individuals. The Company has recently joined forces with nine local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to channel food donations. These partnerships include the Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas (DHRRA), Empire Project, Happy Bank Crew, Hunger Hurts Malaysia, INSAF Malaysia, Kechara Soup Kitchen, PERTIWI Soup Kitchen, The Lost Food Project and Yayasan Food Bank.

This latest initiative is set to support more than 20,000 residents in the Klang Valley area, including senior citizens, disabled individuals, single parents and lower-income families, as well as Orang Asli communities in the areas. The company will help to boost the supply of food banks and food distribution centres organised by the NGOs.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, said, 'As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have an unprecedented impact on everyone's lives, it is important that we continue to support those in need. Hence, we will be distributing critical food supplies, working together with our NGO partners, starting in Klang Valley and progressively covering other parts of the country, such as Sabah, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Kelantan.'

Through its various partnerships, Nestlé contributes high-quality products from brands such as MAGGI, MILO, EVERYDAY MILK, NESTUM and CERELAC. This effort is the latest in a constant flow of initiatives the company has driven to support the community.

After fulfilling its pledge to contribute RM15 million to support Malaysians during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Company has further committed a total of RM7.5 million in contributions to date, in 2021.

Additionally, Nestlé Malaysia recently launched a communication campaign encouraging all Malaysians to 'join the fight, stop COVID-19!' by getting vaccinated without hesitation. Supporting this, from July 15 to September 22, 2021, Nestlé will give away free e-wallet vouchers worth a total of RM500,000 amongst those who are registered for the COVID-19 vaccination. Selected lucky participants will also have the opportunity to participate, win prizes and give recognition to their nominated front liners in a special TV tribute that the Company is organising in partnership with Media Prima.

'The National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme continues to be the key cornerstone to win the battle against the pandemic. Nestlé Malaysia fully supports the vaccination roll out and we hope that this reward will provide a further small incentive for everybody to get vaccinated,' Mr. Aranols added.

Those who have registered for the COVID-19 vaccination on the MySejahtera application, as well as those who have received their first or second vaccinations as reflected on their MySejahtera profile, will be eligible to submit an entry and stand a chance to win one free RM20 e-wallet voucher for Lazada for Peninsular Malaysia residents, Boost for Sabah residents or Sarawak Pay e-Wallet for Sarawak residents, with a total of 25,000 vouchers up for grabs.

To participate, visit the campaign website to fill in the form and upload a screenshot of the vaccination registration page or digital certificate on the MySejahtera profile. No product purchase is required to participate in this campaign and each participant is eligible to one entry submission only. The campaign is open to everyone residing in Malaysia.
