The 2019 DevOps Enterprise Summit (DOES) is just around the corner and I am excited about it. It's been over two years since I've had the opportunity to attend the conference that Gene Kim founded. Gene is the author of 'The Phoenix Project' - the book that kicked off the IT Revolution and set many of us on the path of DevOps and Agile CI/CD development practices.

Inspired by The Phoenix Project and its follow-on hit The DevOps Handbook, I've spent that last 5 years here at NetApp helping customers with Digital Transformation and their DevOps practice adoption.

What is DevOps Enterprise Summit?

Las Vegas - October 28-30, 2019

DevOps Enterprise Summit is a conference for the technology leaders of large, complex organizations implementing DevOps principles and practices. The event programming emphasizes the evolving business, technical and architectural practices and the methods needed to successfully lead widespread change efforts in large organizations. The goal is to give leaders the tools and practices they need to develop and deploy software faster and to win in the marketplace.

I am looking forward to meeting business leaders at DOES who are driving digital transformation and sharing their successes and fast failures along the way. I also expect to hear from the DORA/Google team talk about the results of the 2019 State of DevOps report which is a survey of 30,000s of practitioners.

DORA reports that Elite performers are more likely to use the cloud, but that does not necessarily mean the Public Clouds (AWS, Azure and GCP). It means their IT infrastructure has the attributes of Cloud.

Here at NetApp we are helping customers build and manage their cloud environments whether that is in the Public Clouds or in their Private Clouds (aka datacenters). I curious to learn more about what the Elite Performers are doing and how they are using technologies to speed delivery and innovation. I am equally curious to gain insights to their next set of challenges as they continue to peel back the onion.

DevSecOps is also a huge topic this year at DOES. It is clear that accelerating deployment frequency and time to deployment are as critical or more to maintaining security as deploying new functionality.

Here is a link to another NetApp blog which a great example of how NetApp is helping companies accelerate and automate business.

NetApp is a DOES Gold Sponsor- come visit me and the rest of the NetApp team.
