German operations at Netel Holding AB (publ) (“Netel”) has signed a framework agreement with Deutsche Telekom to expand fibre infrastructure in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. The agreement is part of Netel’s establishment in the Hamburg area and its environs, and strengthens its position in northern Germany. The framework agreement begins in January 2022 and amounts to approximately MSEK 300, with equal distribution over the next four years.

“We have been working with Deutsche Telekom since our establishment in Germany in 2018. The order shows that the cooperation is stable and long-term. Demand for fibre expansion is strong in all of Germany and this agreement further strengthens our order book and shows that Netel is a part of Deutsche Telekom’s expansion plans for the coming years,” says Ove Bergkvist, President and CEO of Netel.

“We have already established ourselves in the eastern regions and are gradually expanding geographically in the important northern region of Germany. We are pleased to be able to say that our work is paying off. The agreement means that we’re creating a solid foundation for the coming years, which is also a foundation for continued expansion in the region,” says Anders Mikkola, Country Manager for Netel in Germany.

Netel established operations in Germany in summer 2018 and has since gradually built an organisation that largely consists of individuals from the rest of Netel with construction experience in fibre, telecom and power networks. By the end of 2021 Netel will have five project offices, primarily in northern Germany.
