Fear the Walking Dead and Candyman actor Colman Domingo has signed on to star in Netflix's biopic about gay, civil rights activist Bayard Rustin.

The streaming service described Rustin in a press release Tuesday as a man "who overcame an onslaught of obstacles, and altered the course of American history by organizing the 1963 March on Washington."

He died in 1987 at the age of 75.

Rustin will also feature Chris Rock as Roy Wilkins, Glynn Turman as A. Philip Randolph and Audra McDonald as Ella Baker.

George C. Wolfe will direct the film, based on a screenplay he penned with Dustin Lance Black, who wrote the 2008 Harvey Milk biopic, Milk.

Wolfe and Domingo previously collaborated on the Netflix film, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Former President Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground company is is producing.
