(03 June 2016 - Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited ('NWDS' or the 'Company'; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in Mainland China, hosts the fifth series of nationwide green activity 'Go Green with NWDS' from the 3rd to the 12th of June inviting all customers and employees to play their part for the environment. This year, NWDS hosts a range of activities including the renowned 'Green Casual Wear Day' and 'Green Rewards GO GO GO' plus demonstrations of low carbon gourmet cooking. A new activity 'I am Master Chef · Delicious Low-Carbon Diet' cooking competition and DIY cooking classes are newly introduced to allow customers to have a first-hand experience of low carbon cooking in a bid to encourage them to embrace green living and to play their part in environmental protection.

To show support to the Hong Kong Green Council's 'Hong Kong Green Day', all NWDS employees wear green casual wear to work and decorate their work stations with plants today in a bid to create a green working environment. Customer participation in environmental activities remains a priority for NWDS. To this end, NWDS stores participate as a member store of Hong Kong Green Day 2016. During the activity period, green garment wearing customers meeting the minimum spending requirement whom shopped at NWDS stores are entitled to environmental friendly gifts such as small potted plants and reusable shopping bags to put 'Green Rewards GO GO GO' in action.

Low-carbon diet is not only a healthy lifestyle attitude, but also an effective means to lower carbon emissions in food production and cooking processes which assists in protecting the environment. With this in mind, selected NWDS stores host the 'Chef is Coming to NWDS · Delicious Low-Carbon Diet' cooking demonstration during the activity period. This is designed to encourage customers to create delicious gourmet dishes with organic ingredients by utilizing low carbon cooking methods such as cold serving and stir-frying. To enrich the customer experience, NWDS stores also host a range of activities including 'I am Master Chef · Delicious Low Carbon Diet' cooking competition, parent-child rice dumplings making competition and sushi DIY classes. During the activity period, NWDS CSR Weibo simultaneously hosts the 'NWDS • Go Green Together' retweeting activity. Hong Kong New World Department Store - Shanghai Hongkou Branch Store plans to share pictures of competing gourmet dishes onto Wechat's 'Moments' and announce a winning dish based on the number of likes given to each competing dish by online users.
