New World Department Store China : NWDS Garners the Gold Award in “The Asset Corporate Awards” for the Second Consecutive Year and Two Corporate Citizenship Logos

(17 December 2015 - Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited ('NWDS' or the 'Company'; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in Mainland China, is pleased to announce that the Company won the Gold Award in 'The Asset Corporate Awards' for the second consecutive year and two Corporate Citizenship Logos in the category of Enterprise and Volunteer in the '6th Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award' for the first time, demonstrating the Company's outstanding performance on a wide spectrum.

'The Asset Corporate Awards' 2015 is organized by an authoritative regional media, The Asset magazine, which believes that enterprises should be accountable for different stakeholders on top of its business performance. The award aims to recognize enterprises with outstanding performance in financial performance, corporate governance, social and environmental responsibility and investor relations. With its holistic performance in corporate governance and sustainability, NWDS has won the Gold Award for two consecutive years, scoring 50 out of total score 100 in many areas, demonstrating the Company's commitment on corporate governance and sustainability while pursuing the highest return for shareholders in order to strike a perfect balance between business performance and sustainable development.

Organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Hong Kong Corporate Citizenship Award Scheme recognizes socially responsible enterprises based on their integrated performance relating to corporate social responsibility vision, measures to improve employees' work and life, commitment to promote the sustainable development of economy, society and environment and to give back to society. NWDS has always actively undertaken its corporate social responsibility by launching the nationwide '@Dream Sustainable Development Program' in 2013 to provide music and sports training to about 7,000 under-resourced children in China so far, establishing Volunteer Team in the same year with a scale of over 2,500 members as at June 2015 and a total contribution of nearly 6,700 service hours, cultivating the volunteer culture among employees.
