New World Resources Plc ("NWR" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that its Sustainable Development Report 2011 was Highly Commended in the Sustainability Reporting Among FTSE 250 Companies category of the prestigious Building Public Trust Awards 2012. NWR was one of three companies from a field of 120 to be recognised for their commitment to sustainability reporting.

"It is a great honour for our Company to be recognised for its work in sustainable development and sustainability reporting. Our success at the Awards confirms that we are moving in the right direction, and is an encouragement to further improve our approach. We are all the more pleased by the award because this was the first NWR Sustainable Development Report prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative guidelines," said Petra Mašínová, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainable Development at NWR.

The jury especially appreciated that the NWR Sustainable Development Report 2011 included individual goals and indicators for measuring the results of sustainable development and a comparison of the risks and opportunities facing the NWR Group. The jury also took into consideration NWR's integration of the sustainable development agenda into its business strategy and the participation of NWR's stakeholders in its implementation.

The Building Public Trust Awards was founded in 2003 and is presented under the auspices of PricewaterhouseCoopers UK. The Sustainability Reporting in the FTSE 250 award was established in 2008. You can find more information about the awards at: http://www.pwc.co.uk/building-public-trust-awards.
