Newcrest Board Renewal

Newcrest today announced the following changes to the composition of its Board of Directors:

• the appointment of Sally-Anne Layman as an independent Non-Executive Director and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, effective from 1 October 2020; and
• the retirement of Xiaoling Liu as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately after the next Newcrest Annual General Meeting on 11 November 2020.

Ms Layman brings extensive experience in mining and corporate finance, with over 26 years of international experience. She spent 14 years with Macquarie Group in a range of senior positions, including as Division Director and Joint Head of the Perth office of the Metals, Mining & Agriculture Division. Prior to that,

Ms Layman held various positions with resource companies including Mount Isa Mines, Great Central Mines and Normandy Yandal. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Beach Energy Limited, Pilbara Minerals Limited, Imdex Limited and Perseus Mining Limited. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) with Honours and a First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency. Ms Layman also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Practising Accountant and a member of CPA Australia Ltd.

Newcrest Chairman Peter Hay thanked Xiaoling for her service and paid tribute to her significant contributions to the Board of Newcrest over the last five years as a Non-Executive Director.
