Newmont Cerro Negro is a founding partner of the new Argentinian chapter of Women in Mining (WIM) that launched in April 2020. The UK-based WIM International seeks to promote the employment, retention and progress of women in the mining industry. As part of our participation, Newmont's Superintendent of External Relations, María Eugenia Sampalione, sits on the Steering Committee.

To showcase women in mining, WIM Argentina launched the Women Who Inspire digital book, recognizing and highlighting women's contributions to the mining industry, and the outstanding women of Newmont Argentina and Cerro Negro will have a chapter devoted to them. Those who are nominated represent Newmont's values, standing out for their commitment, professionalism and their inspiring stories of self-improvement.
