Vattenfall InCharge and the NH Hotel Grouphave agreed on a cooperation to set up and operate public fast-charging stations at almost 50 hotel locations all over Germany. The installations will be ready end of 2024.

Vattenfall wants to enable fossil-free living within one generation and electrified transports are important to make this happen. The cooperation with NH Hotel Group, one of the leading city hotel chains in Germany, is a significant step towards expanding public charging and making charging easier as electrical vehicles are becoming more popular.

"We share NH Hotel's mission to decarbonise. The charging stations are publicly accessible at top locations, not only for hotel guests - and therefore are good addition to our growing charging network in Germany," says Fabian Hagmann, Vice President Business Unit E-mobility at Vattenfall.

The accessible fast-chargers consist of 180 KW charging points. The charging points will be supplied exclusively with electricity from fossil free energy sources. In addition, Vattenfall will build four to eight AC charging points for each hotel for extended overnight charging for hotel guests.

Alexander Dürr, Senior Director of Operations Northern Europe at NH Hotel Group, says: "This initiative by NH Hotel Group is part of its Room4Planet strategy, which sets the roadmap for meeting commitments to fight climate change and progress towards decarbonisation. Employees, suppliers and customers are involved as key stakeholders in the implementation."

The stations will be part of the growing Vattenfall InCharge network across Northern Europe. InCharge currently has 40,000 charge points connected to the network, and provides access to many times more through roaming partners.
