Nippon Paint Co., Ltd., a group company of Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd., has donated 500 'Nippon Paint Face Guards,' which demonstrate excellent anti-fogging and anti-reflective properties and have been developed with the application of Nippon Paint Group's automotive coating technology, to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) at the University of Ghana Medical School, a World Health Organization (WHO)-accredited research institute for infectious diseases. This marks Nippon Paint's second donation after the company supplied 11,000 masks and 500 protective goggles last year.

Since 2020, NMIMR and Nippon Paint have engaged in joint research on inactivating the SARS-CoV-2 virus on surfaces coated with water-based paint containing a visible light-responsive photocatalyst. The donated face guards are being used at NMIMR's Advanced Research Center for Infectious Diseases.

In the ESG statement formulated in August 2020, Nippon Paint Holdings stated that would 'engage and work with its stakeholders to meet their expectations,' focusing on social contribution activities that will meet the needs of the local communities in which it operates. As a member of the Nippon Paint Group, Nippon Paint will continue to promote ongoing, voluntary activities in the future that will contribute to society in line with the Group's management philosophy of 'mutual prosperity.'
