Nippe Home Products Provides DIY Paint to Color Tsugaru Maid Café for the Movie 'Itomichi'

Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) announces that Nippe Home Products Co., Ltd., a Nippon Paint Group company engaged mainly in the sale of DIY paint, home-use paint, and paint gear and related products, provided its original DIY paint for a movie titled 'Itomichi.' This movie, starring Ms. Ren Komai and co-starring Mr. Etsuji Toyokawa, is scheduled for nationwide release in Japan on Friday, June 25, 2021. Nippe Home Products' paint has added a colorful touch to the Tsugaru Maid Café, which serves as a location for the movie.

Outline of 'Itomichi'

'Itomichi' is a film adaptation of the original work of Osamu Koshigaya, the author of 'Hidamari No Kanojo,' and is directed by Satoko Yokohama, who is originally from Aomori prefecture.

Ms. Ito Soma, the main character, is a high school student in the Aomori prefecture city of Hirosaki. She has talent for playing the Tsugaru-shamisen. Her name comes from itomichi, which is a small scratch on shamisen players' fingernails caused by friction with the strings. Ito does not have many friends because she is hesitant to talk to people due to her strong Tsugaru accent. However, she is strong minded. To change herself, she makes a big decision to start working part-time at Tsugaru Maid Café. Encouraged by her grandmother, father and other maid café staff members, Ito begins to grow as person. It's a story about a 16-year-old heroin growing through encounters with various people.
