Nippon Prologis REIT Awarded 5 Stars from GRESB

Nippon Prologis REIT, Inc. ("NPR") today announced that it has been awarded the prestigious "5 Stars" and "Green Star" designation for the seventh consecutive year by the 2021 GRESB Real Estate Assessment, demonstrating its outstanding performance in environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance (ESG).

1. About the GRESB

GRESB is an annual benchmarking assessment to measure ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) integration of real estate companies and funds, as well as the name of organization. It was founded in 2009 by a group of major European pension funds who played leading roles in launching Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

Currently, 140 Investor Members (with more than $47 trillion in assets under management) use GRESB data for their investment decision-making and engagement with investees, and several institutions in Japan including Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) utilize GRESB Assessment results. In 2021, 1,520 listed or private real estate companies/funds participated in GRESB Real Estate Assessment.

2. NPR's GRESB Rating

In the 2021 GRESB Real Estate Assessment, NPR earned a "5 Stars" for the seventh consecutive year in the GRESB Rating, which is based on GRESB overall scores and its quintile position relative to global participants. NPR also earned a "Green Star" designation for the seventh consecutive year by achieving the perfect score in the "Management Component", which evaluates policies and organizational structure for ESG promotion, and high score in the "Performance Component", which assesses environmental performance and tenant engagement in the properties owned by the entity.

In addition, NPR also received the highest "A Level" for the GRESB Public Disclosure, which evaluates the breadth of ESG disclosure.
