Nippon Shinyaku Establishes a Local Subsidiary in Tianjin, China
Kyoto, Japan, January 26, 2022 - Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. (Nippon Shinyaku; Headquarters, Kyoto; President, Toru Nakai) announced today that it has established a local subsidiary "Tianjin Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd." ("Tianjin NS") in Tianjin as a sales foothold in China.
To assume and further strengthen the activities of our Beijing Representative Office, Nippon Shinyaku established a local subsidiary Beijing Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. ("Beijing NS") in September 2021. Having the function to import products from Japan and sell them in China, our newly established Tianjin NS will be a stronghold of our Chinese business. Together with Beijing NS's function to conduct clinical development and serve as a local agent of MAH (Marketing Authorization Holder)*, Tianjin NS enables Nippon Shinyaku to have the function required as a pharmaceutical marketing company.
Tianjin NS will be in charge of sales and marketing of our products such as viltolarsen for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, aim to expand our sales channel in the Chinese market, and make every effort to provide Chinese patients with treatments.
*local agent of MAH: Where the MAH is an overseas enterprise, an enterprise legal person within the territory of the People's Republic of China shall be designated to fulfill the obligations of the MAH and assume joint liability with the MAH (Article 38, Drug Administration Law of the People's Republic of China).
