NTT announced global commitment on Disability Inclusion to promote the active participation of people with disabilities
Today, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, NTT Corporation (NTT; headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Jun Sawada) announced its global commitment on Disability Inclusion to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, to leave no one behind.
On December 9, 2019, NTT joined the 'The Valuable 500' *1, an international initiative to promote the participation of people with disabilities in business. Since our commitment at the time of joining was limited to the region of Japan, we planned to expand our commitments to overseas*2. On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, NTT announced its global commitments to take actions to the following activities;
Commitments of NTT group
We will include 'people with disabilities' in our diversity policy, statements or messages regarding D&I, sharing Values-the core principles that support our activities-'Connect', 'Trust', and 'Integrity', we will encourage a culture of D&I by creating a workplace where all employees, including employees with disabilities, can feel that they belong and they can work as who they are.
We will actively share our activities regarding disability inclusion internally and externally using various media.
We will improve accessibility in digital communication, especially accessibility of our websites
We will deploy training programs of D&I focused on disability and unconscious bias.
NTT group will continue to promote 'Diversity and Inclusion' towards employees, including those with disabilities, and aim to increase its corporate value.

'The Valuable 500' was launched at the World Economic Forum's Annual Summit in Davos in January 2019 and aims to get global leaders to commit to accountable action on disability inclusion to bring the business, social and economic value of people living with disabilities across the world.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) is one of the Japanese largest telecommunications operators. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- systems integration services (32.8%). In addition, the group offers cloud services, data hosting, managed services, etc.;
- networking and interconnection services (28.3%);
- mobile telephony services (9.1%): 84.8 million subscribers at the end of March 2022;
- fixed-line telecommunications services (7.5%): local and long-distance telephony services
- sale of telecommunications terminals (5.7%);
- other (16.6%): primarily distribution of films, music and e-books, financial services, real estate management and renewable energy production.
Japan accounts for 81.9% of net sales.
