NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT group, announced today that it will revise the duties, scale and structure of its board of directors and implement an executive officer system to strengthen the company's governance and ultimately its corporate value. Initiatives will be implemented following NTT Com's 22nd Annual General Shareholders' Meeting on June 18, 2021.

Envisioned changes will cover areas such as the type and scale of matters to be considered by directors in order to enhance the board's strategic decision making. NTT Com also has decided to add outside member of the board of directors to its board to further strengthen governance.

Moreover, the introduction of an executive officer system and a clearer separation of decision-making and supervisory functions from business-execution functions are expected to contribute to managerial agility as well as governance. Executive officers will be elected by the board and serve for one year.
