Nissin Foods Extends Support of HKTA Junior Development with

Milestone Five-year Commitment

Hong Kong's former No.1 player Zhang Ling to serve as Sports Ambassador to

promote sports in the city

(Hong Kong, 20 January 2022) Nissin Foods Company Limited ("Nissin Foods", and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group"; Stock code: 1475) is pleased to announce that it will extend its support as The Hong Kong Tennis Association ('HKTA')'s official Youth Development Partner for a further five years from 2022-2026, cementing its commitment to the long-term development of junior tennis in Hong Kong.

Nissin Foods will continue as title sponsor of the three key local junior tournaments- the Hong Kong National Junior Tennis Championships, Hong Kong Junior Tennis Series, and the Hong Kong Junior Tennis Novice Competition. These core events form the basis for local junior development, providing young players with optimal competitive opportunities to gain more match experience, whilst also allowing HKTA to identify promising talents.

"Our extension of support of junior tennis development in Hong Kong for five years aligns with Nissin Food's commitment to the promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle," said Mr. Kiyotaka Ando, Executive Director, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nissin Foods. The continued partnership with HKTA reflects Nissin Food's founder Mr. Momofuku Ando's belief that 'eating and sports are the two axles of health.'

"Encouraging young people to get involved in sports and providing them with the opportunities to train and compete encapsulates Nissin Food's belief in the power of sport for a full, vibrant lifestyle. We are committed to the nurturing of talented young players and are delighted to continue to be a key long-term stakeholder in the growth of Hong Kong tennis for years to come," added Mr Ando.

"I would like to thank Nissin Foods for their longstanding support and deep commitment to furthering the development of junior tennis in Hong Kong as our Official Youth Development Partner for a landmark five years," Philip Mok, President of HKTA remarked. "Their long-term commitment is especially important during the pandemic which has put a considerable financial pressure on all NSAs, and support from the commercial sector is key to enabling us to continue to run tournaments and training programmes during this difficult period."

"Nisson Foods' support has helped foster our talented young players, including rising stars Cody Wong and Coleman Wong, who participated in these Nissin Foods supported tournaments as junior players. Tournament enrollment rates have soared this year, underscoring the growing popularity of the game, and financial support for events from corporates coupled with positive brand association offers a win- win situation for both parties. We look forward to continue to join forces with Nissin Foods to go even further to develop these events and junior tennis in the region."

It was also announced that former Hong Kong No.1 player Zhang Ling will collaborate with Nissin Foods as Sports Ambassador, bringing her experience as a professional player to help promote tennis and sports as the basis for a healthy lifestyle across the wider community. Zhang retired in 2020, after a successful career spanning 16 years. "After spending many years as a player, I am excited about taking on this role and giving back to the sport that has given me so much. I look forward to supporting the next generation of players whilst also encouraging more people of all ages to get involved in sports and exercise," Zhang said.

Nissin Foods has been the title sponsor of the Nissin Cup Noodles Hong Kong Junior Series and Nissin Demae Iccho Hong Kong Junior Novice Competition since 2015. In 2017, it extended its support to sponsor the Nissin Hong Kong National Junior Tennis Championships.

Participation has increased steadily under Nissin Food's sponsorship with total enrollment for the three flagship local junior events from 2015 to 2021 reaching close to 30,000. The past year saw a significant growth in entry numbers compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, with the enrollment rate for the Junior Series increasing almost 62%, and entries for the Novice Competition and National Junior Tennis Championships recording growth of 40% and 34%, respectively.

In recent years Nissin Foods has widened its support of tennis development in Hong Kong beyond sponsorship of tournaments, with the sponsorship of promising young players including 2021 US Open Boys' Doubles champion Coleman Wong and rising star Cody Wong. The success of both players as well as several others in international competitions underlines the importance of local junior tournaments for young talents to gain experience before they can progress to overseas events.

With Nissin Food's support, HKTA will continue to develop tennis in Hong Kong at all levels and promote sports across the community.
