NMDC Steel Limited has announced the appointment of Shri Ashish Chatterjee as a Government Director on its Board of Directors, effective June 11, 2025. Shri Ashish Chatterjee is a 1999 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and brings over 25 years of diverse administrative experience across both Central and State Government assignments.
Currently, Shri Chatterjee is serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing financial administration and providing strategic advice on matters pertaining to the Steel sector. Shri Ashish Chatterjee is not related to any other Director on the Board of NMDC Steel Limited.
He is not disqualified to act as a Director under the provisions of Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013. Further, he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of order of Court or Tribunal or SEBI or any other such authority. The company also announced the appointment of Shri Abhijit Narendra as joint Secretary.
