Espoo, Finland - Nokia today announced that is conducting a 5G standalone (SA) network trial with mobile operator, Tigo Colombia in the city of Medellin. The project pilots a number of cutting-edge corporate 5G services such as immersive experiences, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and Industry 4.0. The project aims to support Tigo's efforts to ensure Medellin is a leading city for Industry 4.0 services in Latin America. Nokia is the sole vendor in this trial.

For the trial, marked by the event 'On the path from 4G to 5G', Nokia features its AirScale RAN portfolio to support both 5G indoor and outdoor coverage in the 3.5Ghz spectrum band.
