Telecom company Nokia will replace Vietnam's existing air traffic control system with a new IP-based communication network to make the country's aviation safer. The new system will be installed in the air traffic control center in Ho Chi Minh City and will be operational in the second quarter of 2025.

The upgrade includes a transition from legacy SDH technology to a more modern IP/MPLS network, which Nokia says will provide better performance and flexibility in air traffic control.
