The U.K. issued 5.5 billion pounds ($7.45 billion) via the syndicated launch of a new September 2038-dated index-linked gilts on Tuesday, one of the joint lead manager banks said.
Orderbooks for the transaction closed in excess of 61 billion pounds, including joint lead manager interest of 5.5 billion pounds, the same bank said.
The spread on the new linker was set at 11.75 basis points above the November 2037 index-linked gilt.
Joint lead manager banks of the issuance were Barclays, Citi, Nomura and RBC.
