ATLANTA, Nov. 22, 2022 - Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC) today announced that Susan Stuart, Vice President Audit and Compliance, will retire on March 1, 2023. Jacqueline Gray, Assistant Vice President Sourcing, has been appointed as Stuart's successor. Gray will transition to Audit and Compliance effective January 1, 2023.

"Susan joined Norfolk Southern in 1985 and has enjoyed an outstanding career at the company over the past 37 years. Throughout her decades of service, Susan has been a trusted partner and mentor to countless Norfolk Southern employees. We wish her well in her retirement and thank her for her dedication to the Norfolk Southern team," said Nabanita Nag, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Norfolk Southern.

Stuart joined Norfolk Southern as an information technology developer. She served in information technology and accounting positions before being named Assistant Vice President Accounting Operations in 2008 and was appointed to her current role in 2017. Stuart holds degrees from the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech and completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

"Jacquie's excellent knowledge of Norfolk Southern's business, as well as a strong accounting and audit background, make her a natural successor to Susan. Her leadership skills have had an immeasurable impact on the organization. We know that Jacquie will continue to be an agent for positive change and growth for Norfolk Southern in this new role," added Nag.

Gray joined Norfolk Southern in 2008 as Manager Financial Reporting. She has risen through a number of finance and accounting roles including Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Vice President Accounting Operations, and Assistant Vice President Financial Planning & Analysis. Gray was appointed to her current role in February 2021. She began her career with KPMG in the firm's audit group. Gray is a graduate of James Madison University.
