NOS MOBILE NETWORK COVERAGE AWARDED THE BEST IN PORTUGAL

• Recognition awards mobile experience of the NOS users during the 2nd half of 2020
• Results are based on more than 54 million consumer-initiated tests taken using Ookla® Speedtest®
• NOS is the first telecommunications operator to receive the award in Portugal
• This award is obtained at the same time NOS launches Wi-Fi Calling, a new and exclusive technology in Portugal, and VoLTE, that will also improve the quality of its network

NOS is the operator with the best mobile network coverage in Portugal, according to Ookla® as shown in Coverage Score™results*, which measures the overall availability and extent of network coverage based on consumer-initiated tests taken using Speedtest®.

The award results from an extensive data analysis, collected during the second half of 2020, to determine the best mobile coverage in Portugal - network availability in the various geographical areas of the country. Coverage Score is calculated taking into account how often users have network availability in the location where the consumer-initiated test is carried out.

The study, which involved a comparison between the three Portuguese telecom operators, confirms that NOS is the telecommunications company that provides the best network coverage for its customers, based on analyses in over 366 thousand Portuguese locations.

This is the first year that a telecommunications operator in Portugal receives the award from Ookla, the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis.

made simultaneously with mobile data, having no restriction with regard to internet speed, and Wi -Fi Calling, an exclusive technology that makes it possible to make and receive calls over any Wi -Fi network, using an NOS number. With an innovative mobile network ready for the future, NOS pioneered the release of eSIM technology, which allows activation of a mobile tariff without the need for a physical card, also launching, as an exclusive, the Smart Number service, which allows sharing of the phone number and tariff between equipment, in particular smartwatches, and NB-IoT solutions, which bring to the market the possibility of the mobile network connecting to everything and everyone.
