KINGSPORT, Tenn - Japan's largest telecommunication company has launched a new protective case for the iPhone 13 featuring Tritan Renew from Eastman with 50% certified recycled content.*

Available in black and clear options, NTT DOCOMO's hard case is the first of its kind in Asia to adopt Tritan Renew, selected as a sustainable, durable, and BPA-free alternative to polycarbonate. The cases are available in NTT DOCOMO stores across the country.

'The clarity and high transparency of Tritan Renew creates a premium look for cases that are tough and don't break when bent or dropped,' said NTT DOCOMO. 'And the material offers the same performance as polycarbonate without the environmental drawbacks.'

Tritan Renew is made with innovative molecular recycling technology that breaks down plastic waste into fundamental building blocks to be used again in manufacturing processes. By replacing traditional fossil feedstocks with recycled content, plastic waste is diverted from landfills and oceans. The process also produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions than manufacturing with fossil feedstocks.

'Sustainable material adds value to products and brands, and we have a great track record of working with electronics companies to meet their specifications,' said San Sutanto, Eastman's marketing director for plastics.

NTT DOCOMO is already using Tritan, the predecessor to Tritan Renew, on select iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro cases.

*The recycled content is achieved by allocating the recycled plastic waste to Tritan Renew using a mass balance process certified by ISCC.
