São Paulo, August 26, 2024 - Nubank, the largest digital banking platform outside of Asia, and 99, the leading mobility app in coverage in Brazil, announce a strategic partnership to implement NuPay as a payment method for rides in the app. The solution will be exclusively available to the Nubank customer base in the coming weeks.

NuPay, launched in March 2022, is available in more than 130 partners and offers a faster, simpler, and more secure experience. Nu customers can enable the payment feature in the 99 app by registering NuPay just once. It will then be available for future transactions in the app with just one click. For each ride, when choosing to pay with NuPay, the transaction will occur automatically without the need for entering card details.

"We are very excited about the positive impact this partnership will bring to our customers, providing a smoother experience and enhancing how both companies deliver the best solutions to their users. By integrating NuPay in the 99 app, we take another big step to strengthen our presence in this digital ecosystem," says João Banzato, Director of Payments at Nubank.

"With this partnership, 99 users will have another way to pay for their rides within the app. This payment method also brings two major benefits: Nubank users have the convenience of not needing to register a card on our platform and have their purchasing power expanded since NuPay offers the possibility of an extra limit. All this helps to complete the rides in a simple, accessible, and secure manner," says Leonardo Japur, Director of Strategy and New Categories at 99.

With NuPay, depending on profile and credit analysis, customers are eligible for an additional limit without consuming the pre-established Nu credit card limit.

How to register to use NuPay on 99?

Upon accessing the mobility app, the customer can register NuPay as a payment method. By choosing this alternative, the user will be redirected to the Nu app to authorize this and other purchases. Upon returning to the 99 app, the costumer can choose between credit or debit. Payment with NuPay is exclusive to Nu customers, and requires that the digital bank app is installed and active on the device to complete the integration.
