PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $73.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Provo, Utah-based company said it had net income of $1.40.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.18 per share.

The seller of skin care and nutritional products through a direct-selling model posted revenue of $748.2 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $750.9 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $191.4 million, or $3.63 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.58 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Nu Skin said it expects revenue in the range of $610 million to $640 million.

The company expects full-year earnings to be $3.80 to $4.10 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.71 billion to $2.81 billion.

Nu Skin shares have risen 15% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 81% in the last 12 months.
