SASKATOON, Saskatchewan (AP) _ Nutrien Ltd. (NTR) on Monday reported second-quarter profit of $1.11 billion.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based company said it had net income of $1.94 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and restructuring costs, came to $2.08 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.09 per share.

The producer of potash and other fertilizers posted revenue of $9.76 billion in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $9.99 billion.

Nutrien expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.60 to $5.10 per share.

Nutrien shares have climbed 25% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $60.32, a climb of 70% in the last 12 months.
