SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (ORLY) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $392.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Springfield, Missouri-based company said it had net income of $5.40.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $5.12 per share.

The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $2.83 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.76 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.75 billion, or $23.53 per share. Revenue was reported as $11.6 billion.

O'Reilly Automotive expects full-year earnings to be $22.70 to $22.90 per share, with revenue in the range of $11.5 billion to $11.8 billion.

O'Reilly Automotive shares have increased nearly 1% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 4%. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $456.47, a rise of 17% in the last 12 months.
