KACHIPUR MEGNA GUMTI SHIMTI CONSTRUCTION AND EXISTING BRIDGE RENOVATION TEAM (OBAYASHI CORPORATION, SHIMIZU CORPORATION, JFE ENGINEERING, IHI INFRAS STEM) route 1, which connects dhaka, bangladesh's capital, with chittagong, the second largest city with important ports, is the country's most important highway with remarkable economic growth. due to the rapid increase in traffic volume in recent years, traffic congestion has become more serious and bridges have deteriorated, so with japan's paid financial cooperation, we have constructed shimbashi for the kachipur megna gumti 3 bridge and renovated and reinforced the existing bridge in addition to supporting old and new bridge legs, we adopted the steel pipe yaita izutsu foundation method for the first time in bangladesh. in the upper construction of shimbashi, steel narrow box girders and synthetic floor plates were applied in combination, and the bridge was safely built by the sending method and in a short period of time. in addition, this renovation and reinforcement work greatly improved the safety performance of existing bridges. The full opening of the shimbashi and existing bridges in january 2020 greatly improved traffic conditions, and the time required between dhaka and chittagong was reduced from about 10 hours to 5 hours. following the success of the project, plans and investigations have been launched in bangladesh for highways and high-speed railways between dhaka and chittagong, as well as the construction of a metro in dhaka city. This award was highly evaluated for the project, which was an opportunity for bangladesh's economic development and contributed to the development of local engineers. Civil engineering project: three bridges have been completed in bangladesh: kachipur, megna and gumti the second bridge is added next to the existing bridge, and the kachipur bridge has been expanded to a total of eight lanes. a number of special economic zones have been built along route 1, and it is expected to create 10 million jobs in the future.

Short construction period replacement project team for aging floor plates on rapidly increasing highways (obayashi corporation)

In the concrete floor plate replacement work of the aging highway, we developed and applied 'Slim Fastener ' using ultra high strength fiber reinforced concrete (UFC: Ultra high stregth Fiber reinforced Concrete) as the filling material of the precast floor plate joint, and realizedshortening of the construction process and improvement of the quality of the joint.

By using Obayashi's development technology 'Slim Cleats', which demonstrates high strength without heat curing, UFC eliminatesthe need for additional reinforcement muscles in the joints and reduces the bonding width to 50% of the conventional method. A multi-shear key with a uneven shape is provided on the joint surface to strengthen adhesion between the precast floor plate and the intercumple material, preventing the joint surface from opening. increased durability of joints.

THIS DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION WAS HIGHLY EVALUATED FOR CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROMOTION OF ENGINEERING, SUCH AS PIONEERING THE MANUFACTURE, TRANSPORTATION, HITTING AND CURING OF LARGE-SCALE UFC IN THE FIELD, AND THE FACT THAT SLIM FASTENERS CAN BE APPLIED TO UFC SITES HITTING ELSEWHERE IN THE FUTURE.
