Omer North America, contract with Alstom to supply trains to Chicago

(Alliance News) - Omer Spa on Tuesday announced that it has signed, through its subsidiary Omer North America Corp, a contract with Alstom involving the supply of technical and furnishing components for trains commissioned by Metra, a company that provides public transportation in the Chicago metropolitan area.

The order awarded to OMER involves the supply of hat modules and ventilation systems for 221 coaches.

he value of the order of which it is not possible to give full disclosure will contribute between 15 percent and 20 percent to the value of the backlog, which is currently about EUR122 million.

The start of deliveries will take place during 2025 with an expected contract term until 2029 and more relevant execution during fiscal years 2026 and 2028.

Omer is flat at EUR3.93 per share.

Company Profile

Omer SpA is an Italy-based company that specializes in the manufacturing of interiors and fairings for the rolling stock markets in Europe and the United States. The Company focuses on design and manufacturing of products that are divided into three main categories: interiors (panelling, skylights, vestibules and partitions), toilet modules, and fairings and doors. They are produced from aluminum alloys, steel alloys and from plastic and composite materials. The Company's products are applicable mainly in high-speed trains, regional trains, and in metro trains. All the manufactured products are tested through fire resistance tests,thermal insulation tests, and corrosion resistance tests, among others. The Company operates its production plants in Italy and in the United States.
